Farm Visits
Farm visits are self guided and by appointment only.
***There are inherent risks when attending a farm and we cannot guarantee animals will not potentially jump up, bite or injure guests.***
Visit Instruction Guide
-
Farm visits are 1 hour long and self guided.
-
Parking is on the right side of the driveway on the gravel only.
-
If you arrive early for your booking time please remain inside or beside your vehicle until the start of your visit.
-
Please wear clothes and footwear that you do not mind getting muddy or dirty as the goats will jump up on you and chew your clothes and shoe laces.
-
A farmer will come out to greet you at the start of your booking time to welcome you, have your sign a waiver and to direct you to the the areas you may go spend time with the animals.
-
Guests are encouraged to bring cut up or whole apples, carrots and celery to feed the animals through the fencing. We provide hay for feeding upon request.
Important Safety Rules
-
Animals are unpredictable and have good days and bad days just like us. First and faremost this is their home and we are just visitors. If you are not okay with potentially getting pecked or bit or poked by a farm animal please do not book a farm visit.
-
If you are bringing children to the farm you are expected to keep your eyes on your child at all times and it is your responsibility to keep your child's hands out of the animals mouths as this could result in a serious bite or injury.
-
When choosing to hand feed animals you do so at your own risk and we cannot guarantee the behavior of any animal.
-
If you choose to enter the small pen you are expected to secure the latch on the gate behind you and close the man door behind you.
-
We do not allow running at or chasing, grabbing, poking or picking up of any animals. Anyone found to be doing so will be asked to leave. Chickens do not like to be grabbed or poked or startled so please treat them accordingly.
-
We do not have any areas on the farm for running or playing or eating.
-
We have a strict no dog policy as the animals at the farm see them as predators so please leave your dog at home.
As long as visitors adhere to these safety rules we hope to continue to allow our community access to visiting the animals at Grindstone Creek Farm.
